Description
Our coffees are grown in the high mountains of Brazil. The majority of Costa Rican coffees are unwashed or pulped naturally (semi-washed). Natural processing refers to the drying of coffee cherries without removing the skin or mucilage after they have been collected.
So, why does this matter? Natural processing is difficult to achieve without harming the beans, yet it can impart the coffee with a rich body, sweetness, smoothness, and depth.
Costa Rica’s climate, characterized by low rainfall and extended periods of sunshine, is ideal for natural processing.
Natural dry-processed coffee is produced in a unique way that necessitates the trees be nurtured with water beyond the ripeness of the cherries. Because the fruit must ripen, color, and dry on the branch, this process takes twice as long. This is by far one of the most unusual and complex methods of coffee processing, with a delicious and lively finish.
