Guatemalan Single Origin, 1lb Bag (2lb Minimum Order)

Guatemala produces some of Central America’s most distinctive coffee. This is especially true of the Strictly Hard Bean green coffees grown in the Atitlan and Antigua coffee-growing areas in the country’s central highlands. These coffees also have a floral acidity that is usually spicy or chocolaty.

Guatemalan coffee is the ideal first step for individuals who want to transition from consuming mass-produced coffee to high-quality coffee beans, as it is strong, full-bodied, slightly acidic, and exceptionally delicious.

Guatemala has several diverse microclimates, volcanic soil, and more water than its neighbors. Guatemala was one of the first places to cultivate coffee, and as the market for specialty coffee began to expand, the country knew what it needed to do to capitalize on this opportunity.

Guatemala is one of the world’s top 10 coffee-producing nations, producing over 204,000 metric tons of coffee annually.

Description

About the coffee bean process:

Arabica green coffee is best grown in Guatemala because of the country’s unique microclimates and mineral-rich soils. Guatemalan coffee boasts a robust and distinctive flavor thanks to its cultivation at elevations higher than 5,000 feet. Guatemala’s unusual growing location is ideal for producing some of the most delicious coffee beans because of its nutrient-rich volcanic soil, mild subtropical temperature, and peculiar growing environment. We wash our Guatemalan coffee (also known as wet-processed). Wet-processed coffee, having had the fruit covering the beans removed before the beans are dried, employs a procedure that uses much water.

For a good reason, too, Guatemala is a favorite among coffee connoisseurs. Guatemalan coffee can have the ideal ratio of body, strength, sweetness, mild acidity, and subtle taste nuances. Our coffee is produced in Guatemala’s FRAIJANES PLATEAU, north of Lake Atitlan. On the Fraijanes Plateau, where heights range from 1200 to 1500 meters above sea level, coffee is cultivated with a relative humidity of around 60% and an annual rainfall of about 1500 mm.
