Brazil

One-third of the world's coffee production comes from Brazil, the largest producer. 220,000 coffee plantations are there. The first area to be recognized as a "designation of origin" is Cerrado de Minas. The area, where elevations range from 800 to 1,300 meters, produces excellent coffee. Most of the world's espresso beans are made in Brazil.

Brazilian coffee is known for being very sweet, with notes of caramel and chocolate, having a big body, and not having much acidity. Some people don’t think much of a Brazilian cup because it has a soft edge, but when you take a second sip, you can taste that it has a nice, satisfying flavor.

Since we work directly with South American farmers, our coffee is sent to Busy Bee Roasters straight from the farms. By using this method, we will be able to give growers a more significant premium and raise the bar for the quality of our coffee.

At the source, the Busy Bee roasting procedure starts. Our coffees are meticulously selected and prepared, focusing on origin, flavor, character, and quality. These qualities guarantee that we always offer exceptional coffee and sincere compassion.
Busy Bee uses the most environmentally friendly roasting technique to produce the best coffee beans. We significantly decreased our carbon emissions when roasting coffee without using smoke.

About the coffee bean process:

Our coffee is cultivated in Brazil’s high highlands. Most Brazilian coffees are naturally pulped or unwashed (semi-washed). After the coffee cherries have been picked, they are dried without removing the peel or mucilage.

So why is this important? Natural processing may offer coffee a lot of body, sweetness, smoothness, and depth, but it is challenging without damaging the beans.

The weather in Brazil, which has little rain and lots of sunshine, is perfect for natural processing.
Natural, dry-processed coffee is made in a unique technique that requires the trees to be nourished with water past the point at which the cherries are fully mature. This procedure takes twice as long since the fruit must mature, turn color, and dry on the branch. This process is one of the strangest and most difficult ways to make coffee, but the result is delicious and full of life.
